A few notes about the doorknobs shown below:
A few notes about the doorknobs shown below:
- The listings below are catalog cuts of known glass items shown in catalogs. We will photograph and add examples as we (1) figure out how best to photograph them, (2) determine the best background, and (3) likely will have them at a bit of an angle.
- The R numbers and other information is shown when you hover your mouse over the photo on a computer, or single tap the photo on a tablet or mobile device.
- There are multiple versions of knob designs shown below, as different manufacturers sold the same knob designs.
- Some manufacturers did not manufacture glass doorknobs themselves, buying them from glass manufacturers such as Pairpoint as well as other hardware manufacturers. More research is needed on this topic.
- Most of the knobs shown below date to about 1900 or later. A few examples with footed attachments date to right after the Civil War, and most other footed knobs date to the late 1800s.
- The knobs shown below are currently sorted by manufacturer for webpage building purposes. Once all known catalog examples are added to this webpage, they will be grouped and sorted by design categories and then sorted by design.
