Shown in 1892 Kenton catalog page 74. Design patent #D19,505, December 17, 1889, by Henny W. Gebauer & Willam H. Johnson of Cleveland, OH., assigned to the Perkins Lock Manufacturing. Kenton Lock and Perkins Lock were associated until patent disputes caused Kenton to move to making toys.
