A-10500

"Two Birds"

An echo of A-10400, and equally charming. Design patent #D11,226, June 3, 1879 by R. Christesen. An early "Japanese style" knob. Russell & Erwin produced several fine pieces of hardware in this style as shown in The Doorknob Collector # 120 and the 1883 Russell & Erwin catalog. However, by 1885 only one or two designs were left in the catalog. An article  in The Doorknob Collector # 153 give more information on Rodolphe Christesen.
