Design patent #D11,227 June 3, 1879 by Rodolphe Christesen assigned to Russell & Erwin. An early "Japanese style" knob. Russell & Erwin produced several fine pieces of hardware in this style as shown in The Doorknob Collector # 120 and the 1883 Russell & Erwin catalog. However, by 1885 only one or two designs were left in the catalog.
