Educational Scholarships
Devoted to the study and preservation of ornamental hardware.
The ADCA offers educational scholarships devoted to the study and preservation of ornamental hardware. The programme is sponsored by Liz's Antique Hardware together with members of the club, and assists students working in historic preservation.
Who can apply
You must be enrolled in, or recently graduated from, an accredited college, university or school, in a programme such as Historic Preservation, Architecture, Construction Science or the Building Trades — or a related course of study that includes at least one year of historic preservation coursework.
The awards
Between one and three scholarships are awarded each year.
- First prize — $750, plus up to $500 towards travel and registration
- Second prize — $500, plus up to $500 towards travel and registration
- Third prize — $350, plus up to $500 towards travel and registration
Every recipient also receives a one-year membership of the ADCA.
What to submit
A completed cover page, and a paper of three to five pages on a historic preservation project involving builder's hardware. Single-spaced, with one-inch margins.
Attending the convention
Award recipients are expected to attend the ADCA Convention and present their paper to the membership.
