A masterpiece of Romanesque architecture, the Minneapolis City Hall occupies one half of this building while Hennepin County occupies the other.  The county occupied their portion of the building in 1895 (which is the date on the back plates), with the city moving in a few years later.  One of the more artful monogram designs for a doorknob.  The Hennepin County portion of the building had similar doorknobs with the HCo monogram (P-43770).
