Treasury Seal
The Supervising Architects office at the United States Treasury designed and/or built most Federal buildings in the United States between 1850 and 1940. Some buildings featured the Treasury Department seal on doorknobs. This style was used in the 1880 Post Office & Courthouse on City Hall Square in New York, NY, portions of the Treasury Building in Washington, DC, and other buildings. The knobs are 2 3/4 inches in diameter. Click on each photo below to view additional images and information.
