
Melrose
Design by architect Henry Ives Cobb for his original buildings for the University of Chicago, which were completed in 1892. Manufactured by Corbin and shown in the Corbin S special hardware catalog. Used in other subsequent university buildings, and later made for the University by Yale & Towne beginning in 1907. Later became a stock pattern for Corbin as the Melrose designin P & F Corbin Catalog No. 26 (c. 1923) page 264.
