Definitely, an odd shaped knob! Shown in the 1925 Earle Hardware catalog page 90. The 1928 Rite Hardware catalog page 44 has similar but the coil is counter clock-wise. The 1929 Weiser catalog page 44 also has a similar knob. Click on each photo below to view additional images and information
